Minister Ellis inspired by Ladder

Federal Minister for Early Childhood Education, Child Care, Youth and Sport the Honourable Kate Ellis MP today visited Ladder Hoddle Street (Melbourne).

Ladder, was today presented with a cheque for $100,000 raised by AFL players in support of the Ladder homeless youth initiative.

Ladder, the co AFL Players’ Association and AFL Foundation initiative tackling youth homelessness is forging ahead with the development of its two Ladder sites, in Melbourne and Adelaide, with the ultimate vision of creating a Ladder presence in every State AFL football is played in.
 
Minister Ellis inspected the Hoddle Street Ladder facility with fellow Federal Minister Tanya Plibersek and was impressed with the development of the site as well as the work undertaken by AFL players, calling the Ladder initiative on her Twitter page (www.twitter.com/KateEllisMP) “amazing and inspiring work.”
 
Ladder General Manager Mark Bolton was thrilled to up date Minister Ellis on Ladder and take Australia’s Minister of Sport on a tour of the Ladder building situated in Hoddle Street, Collingwood.
 
“The Ladder team have been working hard on getting both Ladder sites up and running and it’s really satisfying to hear supportive comments from Minister Ellis.”
 
“Along with our sister site in Port Adelaide, Ladder is set to play an important role in tackling youth homeless,” Bolton said.
