AFLPA names Ian Prendergast as GM - Player Relations

The AFL Players' Association is pleased to announce that former Carlton player Ian Prendergast will join the association in December, as General Manager – Player Relations.
After retiring from the AFL in 2006 following an eight year career, during which time he completed a Bachelor of Laws at Monash University, Ian began practising as a lawyer in Adelaide with Griffin Hilditch Lawyers. He brings a wealth of practical experience and knowledge of the AFL industry to the role.
Following the completion of his AFL career, the former Blue continued his close involvement in football having initiated the South Australian National Football League Players’ Association as well as being a member of the AFLPA’s Agent Accreditation Board.
Currently working at boutique Melbourne law firm Kelly Hazell Quill Lawyers in the Media Law Group, Prendergast has also recently acted as a Corporate Solicitor with Toyota Motor Corporation Australia.
AFLPA CEO Matthew Finnis was pleased to announce Prendergast’s appointment into this key role.
