AFLPA Executive Member and Geelong Football Club Captain Tom Harley has officially launched the annual Geelong Hospital Appeal.

Aiming to raise $2 million, all money raised this year will go to fully fitting out two new operating theatres which would see an 11% increase in operations (an extra 2000) performed each year.

In launching the appeal, Harley pointed to the power of community.

"Communities can band together and I don't see any reason why an appeal such as this can't achieve great results as well," Harley said.
