AFLPA Past Player Golf Day
The beautiful Paterson River Country & Golf Club in Bonbeach played host to the third annual AFLPA Past Player Golf Day on Wednesday 17 June. In foggy conditions, more than 80 past VFL/AFL players teed off in search of bragging rights and great prizes.
Famous names including Tuck, Holland, Mercuri, Rawlings, King and Dixon took to the fairways in what is fast becoming the most popular event on the AFLPA calendar. While some players took the opportunity to catch up and reminisce with past teammates and rivals, others reignited competitive streaks and tinkered with handicaps to ensure they were right in the mix.
The team of Jade Rawlings, Kris Barlow, Ludovic Wilson and Richie Vandenberg took the overall honours with their round highlighted by an incredible chip-in eagle from Vanderberg on the Par 4 13th. Second place went to the consistent group of Terry Brain, Robert Klomp, Mark Mercuri and Barry Young.
